The Mystery Men are one of the newest and most exciting gospel groups in America today. The group began its journey in April of 2002. “Throughout my career in Southern Gospel music, I have traveled nearly every place you can imagine, but I believe it was all in preparation for what you see now,” Ed Crawford states. The intricate harmonies, detailed arrangements, and versatility, places this group in a league of their own. In one concert you will feel the nostalgia of their predecessors as they perform the classics, be moved as you experience the freshness of timely, original material, and thrilled with the unsurpassed sound of their a cappella numbers.
With each step taken down the Southern Gospel road, The Mystery Men members have garnered recognition and admiration from the Southern Gospel industry and fans alike.
When asked about the name of the group, Crawford chuckled. “Have you tried to come up with a new name for a group lately? It is nearly impossible, but in Ephesians 6:19 it says . . . give me utterance that whenever I open my mouth I will boldly proclaim the mystery of the Gospel. After reading this, it became apparent, who better to do this than the Mystery Men.”
When asked the group’s goals, Crawford responded, “To share the mystery of the gospel while pursuing and preserving Southern Gospel music in its truest form. We’ve shared the stage with and have been greatly influenced by many of the pioneers and legends. We do not claim to be or attempt to replace these, but merely find a place among them.”
The demand for The Mystery Men is rapidly increasing. Their performance venues include churches, concert halls, dinner theaters and corporate functions. Fans find the group exciting, moving and entertaining, while experiencing the deep conviction delivered in every note.
